Being an adult means paying bills and going to work every day, and that sounds like a bummer. One thing that outweighs a monotonous daily routine is the freedom to eat whatever you choose…and being an active runner just makes it even more satisfying because you know you can handle those few extra calories.
Now, I’m not talking about seven-deadly-sins-type of gluttony. I’m just talking about picking up a couple extra items that aren’t on your grocery list, like The Cookie Dough Cafe’s Edible Cookie Dough.
Naturally, I had to pick out the Monster dough, which is described as “Natural peanut butter and oats loaded with chocolate chips and M&M® candies. Monster dough is creamy trail mix in a jar.” I’m like a little kid who loads up their frozen yogurt cup with a little of every since ingredient.
However, everything in the Monster flavor works in harmony. There’s really no other way to describe it; it’s just like eating raw cookie dough, minus the eggs. Every bite takes you back to the home kitchen at a younger age, flour flying everywhere, the loud purr of the Kitchenaid mixer and a child’s grubby hands wrist-deep in the mixing bowl.
The product’s slogan is “grab a spoon, and dig right in!” This is the only place, in my opinion, the edible cookie dough fails. A metal spoon is essential to a good indulging experience. It is as hard as a traditional hard ice cream, but it doesn’t melt.
I would personally like to see a “soft-baked” version that would allow you to dip pretzels, chips, etc… That might also be dangerous because I’d probably eat the whole jar in one sitting.
Overall, I would give The Cookie Dough Cafe Edible Cookie Dough an 9 out of 10. The flavor is on point, and I would definitely get it again. Also, huge plus to a company that makes a “Naked Dough” flavor.
