December 30 is International Bacon Day. In honor of this very day, I am posting five of my favorite ways to include bacon with every meal.
Bacon Breakfast Quiche
This is one of my go-to ways to add bacon. This deep dish delight is easy to make the night before and heats up well the next morning. So, if you’re in a rush, you can slice the quiche, place it into Ziploc bags and warm it up at work. Voila! Bacon every day.
The Bacon Milkshake
The bacon milkshake is an elusive creature that seems to pop up in the . Red Robin made a splash in fall 2014 with its Beam-N-Bacon Boozy Shake, but nothing compares to Michael Symon’s B Spot and their Vanilla Bean Apple Pie Bacon Milkshake. The classic combo of sweet and savory are married together in this double tall beverage; one shake is more than enough for two people.

Bacon Brussel Sprouts
I’ll admit it. My five-year-old self finally grew up this year after toying with various ways to cook brussel sprouts. I’m not a fan of boiling or anything that could make them anywhere near mushy. So, roasting them has been my method of cooking. I will post my favorite way to prepare brussel sprouts in a bit. For now, click here for a bacon brussel sprouts recipe.
Bacon Ranch Potatoes
I stumbled upon this in my search for out-of-the-ordinary bacon dishes and thought, “this makes sense”. I would personally skip the oven baking and cook the bacon in a pan, filling the house with wafts of bacon scent for the next few hours. But, that’s just my preference. As the post says ,”Potatoes. Cheese. And bacon. With these 3, you can’t go wrong.” Click here for the recipe.
“hickory smoked bacon, black pepper crusted slab cut bacon, maple bourbon glazed smoked pork belly, Italian pancetta, herb cream cheese with bacon bits, in-house made bacon-infused mayonnaise, sharp cheddar, fresh Romaine and sliced tomato”
It was the best Christmas present a restaurant could offer ever.
Let’s make this International Bacon Day one to remember post your favorite bacon recipes and ways to prepare bacon below!
